Moate 

 

The friary at Moate was founded in 1735 and grew to be quite a large establishment with various meeting halls and houses. In 1949 the Order opened a boys' boarding school in the grounds of the friary but this closed in 1996 with the opening of a new Community School in the town. Much work has been done in recent years in providing new facilities and meeting places for the local community in the friary grounds.
